WMWD's Earth Night in the Garden

Western Municipal Water District hosts an annual Earth Night in the Garden event that is definitely worth checking out!  It is coming up on Thursday, April 19th from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. and it is  a free, family friendly event.  There are interactive games and prizes, lots of freebies from local community sponsors and a lady bug release.  I have taken our girls in the past and they always have a great time there!  Besides being fun, it is a great learning experience for them.

Parking is VERY limited, so I suggest getting there before 5 if you can.  You can also park across the street in the Mission Grove Plaza and cross Alessandro at the Mission Grove signal cross walk.

Troop 2370 WMWD Garden Tour

Our girls had a great field trip to the Landscapes Southern California Style WMWD garden on the 13th.  While we were there our troop learned about where our climate, where our water comes from and using our natural resources wisely.  We owe Liselle from Western Municipal Water District a big "thank you!" for showing our girls around and doing a great job of explaining these important topics to them.

Attending this field trip allowed the girls to earn their green petal for their Daisy patch and gave them the opportunity to earn the World Thinking Day award.  If your Daisy would like to earn this patch, please have her bring her completed project about our garden tour to our next troop meeting on April 12th.  They can draw a picture, write about, or create art work about what they learned.  Once they share what they have made with the troop, they will get their patch.

The girls also have the opportunity to earn a special H2O Explorer badge from WMWD if they  complete specific requirements.  Just participating in the garden tour checked a few of the requirements off of the list.  If our girls do a few more activities on their own, they will qualify for this patch too.  To find out more about what they need to do to earn this patch, click here.  If your Daisy would like to earn this patch, please help her fill out the form on their web site (click on "ages 7-10), and turn in in to Mrs. Sharpe at our next troop meeting. 

If your daughter was not able to attend the field trip, contact Mrs. Sharpe to find out what she can do to earn her green patch.  Keep in mind that you can visit the WMWD garden any time during regular business hours and read up on the information while you are there.

2012 Cookie Season Wraps Up

This just in...

"I could literally run down the streets singing for joy! This morning I completed the final steps for wrapping up cookie sales. Thank you to the girls and their families for all of the hard work and support!
The girls have earned $2,243.80! Wow...amazing for the first year out! Congratulations to every girl in the troop for reaching the 100 box goal! As a troop we sold a total of 3,024 boxes of cookies and icares! This is a huge accomplishment!

February 12th Booth Sale

Troop 2370 had another great booth sale with 106 boxes sold!  Thank you to Balei, Payton, Emma, Emily, Kendall, Ashtyn, and Sophia for all your hard work at this booth sale!  If you have any other pictures of this event, please send them to either Bethany or Donna to post.

Weekend Sales Results!

The results are in!  At our troop's first booth sale, the girls who participated sold 206 boxes of cookies and received $73 in donations for icare boxes.  That comes to 224.25 boxes! 

At the Walk-About on Saturday, another 20 boxes were sold.  Way to go girls!

As a troop we have sold over 2,000 boxes of cookies! That is $1,400 for the troop to spend! We still have another booth coming up this weekend and another month of cookie sales ahead of us.  We are so proud of all of our little sales girls!

For this week's troop meeting, we will be having another Walk-About. Watch for an email from Brandy letting us know where we will be walking-about!

Walkabout

Troop 2370 had their first Walkabout today.  We had fantastic weather and some darling sales ladies!  We'll  have another Walkabout at our next troop meeting.  Can't wait.  We also have a Booth Sale this Sunday and next Sunday.  Truly cookie madness!  Don't forget to check your e-mail for important updates from Brandy, including dates and times for refills.

Cookie sales have officially begun! 

Take a look at how loaded down Brandy's car was after picking up our first order of cookies! 

Brandy will be picking up more cookies from the cookie pantry on Tuesdays at 1:00pm. Please get your orders for more cookies to her as soon as you can so that we can be sure that everyone gets all the cookies that they need.
